Unique Wedding Ideas Page 17 96. My Fiancé and I were racking our brains trying to think of favors that would be
meaningful and useful to our guests. We came up with the idea to pick 15 of our favorite love songs(including the song we will dance our first dance to)and have them put onto CDs. The covers for the cases will have our color copied engagement picture with our names and wedding date on the bottom! 97. We chose to have 5 bridesmaids and groomsmen. However, there were so many more women that wanted to be in the
wedding. So I decided to have honorary maids. These ladies are escorted at the very beginning of the ceremony, given a flower, and seated together. That way they are honored as someone special to the bride and they honor the bride by being willing to take a part in the ceremony.
98. This is my second marriage and I have two young children that we wanted to feel included in the wedding. Our invitations
were worded as "Marc & Rebecca invite you to share in their joy at the marriage of their mother...." My son who is 7 will be walking down the aisle with me and my fiancee has special vows he will recite to the children at the end of our ceremony and he will give them each a small gift. 99. My fiance and I are getting married Dec. 24, on the beach,
St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Since it is a second wedding for both of us, we decided to combine a vacation with getting married. The unique part is that he is going to wear rolled up cotton pants with a gorgeous "aloha" shirt that matches my bouquet and I am wearing a white mini sun dress that sparkles..I spent hours and hours trying to decide what to do for shoes. My brilliant idea...I found a pair of white flip-flops and
decorated the straps with pearls/sequins/and ribbons. Cute! 100. I went to a great wedding of a bachelor who was 35+ and his new wife who was in her early 20's. As we walked into the reception there were 2 groomsmen handing out keys to every woman in the room, I mean children, grandmothers, etc. Before the toast, the family priest placed a glass bowl on the table in
front of the groom, and asked for any woman who has ever had a key to the grooms apartment to please place it in the bowl. You should have heard the howls as the great grandmothers in walkers and the 2 year old flower girl came up along with every other woman in the room, even waitresses. it was great fun
101. I was a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding and my sister-in
-law-to-be shared most of her wedding planning tips with me prior to the wedding, or so I thought! When it was bouquet tossing time at the reception she gathered all the single girls on the dance floor and turned her back. The DJ counted backwards from 10 and when she threw her hands back over her head she let go 30 single roses, of which one pink and the rest white. The girl who caught the one pink rose was the lucky girl.
Seeing thirty flying roses was so much fun, it saved the girls from trampling over each other and we all walked away with a souvenir!
102 My husband and I had been dating for eight years prior to our marriage. During that time he had given me many roses on different occasions. Being of the sentimental type I had dried these flowers, and at the end of our reception, as we left for
our honeymoon, the guests threw the dried rose petals. 103. This is my second wedding and since both of my parents and my oldest son are deceased we are having a candle lighting ceremony at the beginning of the serve to remember them there will be pictures of them at the altar and we will be lighting the candles to the song wish you were here by Pink Floyd (my son's favorite song) it is our way of having them with us.
