Who is Really Invited?

HI, Fran,

I am recently separated and am dating a really nice gentleman. I have been invited to attend a wedding this summer, and when the invitation came there was no "and Guest" written on the inside envelope. Does this mean that I cannot take a date to the wedding? Space is not an issue for the bride's family...the wedding is outdoors; neither is money, as the family is quite well off. Help, please.
Thanks, Susan

Susan,
Yes, that is exactly what that means. Although space and money are not an issue, PEOPLE generally are! And this bride may ONLY want those she knows or cares for to attend this most important day of her life. It is most inappropriate to take a "date" who is  not invited. Fran
